Ultimate Connection Options
The Digitech RP-1000 has the flexibility to work with almost any guitar rig – making it as simple or complex as you desire.
- Standalone operation: the RP-1000 creates all your core tones including 40 amplifier models, 160 effects, and many effects libraries. This can be sent to a mixing desk, guitar amp, or recording device and is a complete solution to shaping your sound.
- Integrate external FX: the RP-1000 has an FX loop, letting you insert your favourite external stomp boxes/effects units into the chain. You can choose whereabouts they appear in the signal path, whether that is in the front of the amp models, or after the amp model (like in a studio).
- Integrate your guitar amp: the RP-1000 can allow you to bypass its internal amp and cab models. You can insert your own amplifier to the signal chain, which can then be mixed with the internal effects and the FX loop mentioned above. In this mode you can use a full 4-cable method and fully utilise your guitar amp's FX loop and preamp capabilities.
- And even more: XLR outs allow you to connect directly to a stereo mixing desk. Headphone out allows for silent practice. Connect an external preamp and integrate it into the signal chain.
As you can see here, the RP-1000 has a very wide range of uses and can integrate with almost any setup. It has the flexibility to be used in more than one different rig, meaning when you update your amp or effects pedals, the RP-1000 will still be more than capable of keeping up.
Tonal Sculpting
The RP-1000 has a plethora of amplifier models and effects based on familiar and iconic designs. If you choose to use the in-built amps and cabs, you'll have the ability to create a sound from any musical genre. The RP-1000 allows you to bypass the amp/cab, should you instead wish to integrate your own amplifier into the signal chain.
- Effects: The RP-1000 has a huge selection of effects, including reverbs, dynamic effects, delays, modulations, pitch effects, and much more. It is highly recommended you read the manual to see the full list of effects that are available, many of which are based on classic models. Many of the parameters are accessible via the expression pedal, meaning you can make live alterations to many different sound settings on-the-fly.
- Amplifiers: The RP-1000 has models of vintage and modern amplifiers to provide access to almost any sound imaginable. As mentioned above, it is highly recommended you read the manual to see the true extent of the amplifiers that are offered. These amplifiers are accessed in the tone block and can provide the sound of a fully mic'd guitar amp and cab for direct use into a mixing desk or recording device – perfect for getting a quality tone with the minimum of fuss.
Live Use
The RP-1000 has a preset mode, where every footswitch recalls a sound stored in memory. It also has a pedalboard mode that allows 5 of the footswitches to access presets and the other 5 to switch FX on and off.
Expression Pedal
The expression pedal lets you control the traditional effects like wah and volume, but can also be programmed to change nearly any parameter in the RP-1000; this gives you access to some further experimentation with sounds.
Tuner & Looper
The RP-1000 has a very clear display with a chromatic tuner for quick and precise tuning adjustments. The unit is lightweight yet built to rock out on stage. It has very clearly labelled buttons and functions, and is very easy to use once you get to grips with how it works. A built-in looper provides a very useful practice function, letting you create loops to jam along with.
