A storied history, a bright future

At turn of the 60's the Fender Jazz Bass was born. After the domination of the P Bass throughout the 50's, Fender decided to extend their bass range to feature the more stylish and deluxe Jazz Bass. With its new pickup design, the Jazz bass offered much more tonal versatility than the Precision bass. You didn't just get a single sound, you got an entire palette of bass tones. Bass playing would no longer be a way to add low end to the mix, with the Jazz Bass, it became an experience.

50 years of storied history later and the Jazz Bass has been able to hold on. Over its half century of existence, the Jazz Bass has been used by all of the legends.
