The 'Workhorse' - Round Shoulder Dreadnought

The Gibson J-15 2019 features a famed round shoulder dreadnought body, which delivers plenty of projection and maintains overall tonal balance. The sheer volume the J-15 can project makes it ideal for the singer/songwriter. Vocalists can really push their diaphragm to the max and not feel too loud against the guitar's volume - it will sing as loud as you do. The J-15 is also world renowned for its full, yet balanced expression, as well as its warm bass and excellent projection. The round shoulder body delivers an impeccable dynamic range, warm mids, and tight punchy bass. Smooth Playing Experience

Constructed from maple, the J-15's neck offers a dynamic, bright tonality with excellent bite and sustain. Additionally, the silky smooth action complements the maple to unleash your full potential. Although maple is a brightly toned piece of timber, its the mids that tend to have a snappier attack with a punchy, slightly gnarly edge when driven with hard pick attack. Maple also offers excellent clarity when playing light to medium fingerpicking techniques. The two-piece maple neck features a slim taper which makes face-paced styles comfortable, and easy to play. The neck's slim taper also allows you to achieve string bends with ease. The smooth-playing neck is topped with a walnut fingerboard that not only offers a pleasing aesthetic but provides a balanced, unique earthy tone.

Traditional Hand Scalloped X-Bracing

As with many of Gibson's acoustic range, the J-45 Studio 2019 comes fitted with traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing. This specific type of bracing structure consists of two braces forming an 'X' shape across the soundboard which not only enhances the sound and offers a well-balanced tone, but also provides a reinforced stable and durable structure. Furthermore, with traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing, the J-15's tone is enhanced beautifully, providing superior projection and volume for a truly expressive sound. Each and every hand-scalloped Gibson is hand-made. It requires much more time and effort to construct a guitar in this manner, but the results are sensational. Time honoured and durable with a superior tone.
