The Orange Getaway Driver is a powerful overdrive machine, adding a beautiful vintage vibe to any amp but excelling when used with an amp’s clean channel. Its incredible controls offer simple and intuitive yet highly powerful adjustments, allowing you to use it as an excellent clean boost when it’s dialled with low gain and high volume. Use it as a clean boost to push your amp over the edge into a classic overdrive.
The Orange Getaway Driver’s voicing and gain structure is based on a cranked mode ‘70s valve amp, equipped with single-ended JFET circuitry running in class A to deliver a valve-like tone. The pedal also has the option to run at 9V or 12V with a 9V power supply (not included), delivering EL84 valve characteristics and flavour.
The Getaway Driver features the same transparent buffered bypass the Kongpressor and Two Stroke Pedals. This bypass cleverly retains the guitar’s upper harmonic content when it's switched off, delivering a clean sound true to the original signal.
The Getaway Driver Pedal features a second output equipped with a cab simulator and headphone amp, which remains active even when the buffered bypass is engaged, offering players the ability to use the pedal solely as a cab sim. Both outputs are handled with op-amps and use a charge pump for 18V of headroom, the cab sim can work directly with PA Systems, DI boxes, and recording interfaces for the ultimate versatility.
