The PRS John Mayer Silver Sky teams old and new with scrupulous precision and careful design. Designed to provide incredible playability, the silky-smooth fretboard allows you to pitch bend and slide as if your fingers are floating on air, much like the dazzling, yet subtle, bird inlays that accent it. Alder has been relied upon for years to deliver pure excellence. Trusting the construction of some of PRS' most famed guitars, the PRS John Mayer Silver Sky also depends on this exquisite tonewood. Alder provides a wonderful, balanced tone with a pronounced upper midrange that can be projected with immense power, reaching the back of the room at your sold-out gig or shining through the mix in the studio. The focus on the upper midrange results in a tone that is equal in resonance and brightness, perfect for magnificent overtones and a gorgeous immersive atmosphere when pushed to its potential. It also offers shimmering clarity, making it suitable for a range of playing styles. You can perform knowing every single note will ring out and hang in the air with a clear, crisp sound.
Attached to the dynamic body is a gloriously crafted neck. Made from maple, it has a gorgeous snappy tone and wondrous attack whilst still retaining that sustain needed for a full-bodied sound.
