Timeless rotary rhythms. Anyone who's ever used a Leslie rotating speaker with their instrument knows its main drawback - its enormous size and weight! The Electro Harmonix Lester G Deluxe Rotary Speaker Emulator puts the classic, swirling tremolo effect of a Leslie in the palm of your hand. Electro-Harmonix's Lester G also lets you get your guitar closer to that unmistakable organ sustain than ever before, thanks to its full-featured compressor section.
Funky distorted Hammond tones are just a twist away, thanks to the Lester G's authentic tube-style overdrive, with the Balance knob acting as a powerful yet musical equaliser. You'll have all the control of a real Leslie, with independent low and high speed settings, as well as an acceleration control for an accurate transition when you hit the infamous Speed/Brake switch. The Lester G Deluxe is a first-rate, full-featured Leslie emulation. Give it a whirl.

Realistic, reliable rotary controls. To those acquainted with rotating speakers, the EHX Lester G's range of features will be both familiar and a breath of fresh air. Switch between slow and fast rotation speeds by hitting the Speed/Brake switch once. Likewise, slow the effect down to a full stop by holding the switch for more than half a second, just as you would on the real thing.
However, the Lester provides modern versatility too, with super-accurate control over the RPM of both the Slow and Fast spin rates, as well as the magical Acceleration knob. This controls how quickly the Lester shifts between the two rates, ranging from a near-instant switch to an atmospheric, gradual modulation. For a final level of high-end functionality, the Lester G also features an expression pedal input for on-the-fly trem speed swells.
Push the envelope. On their own, the Lester G Deluxe's regular controls add a stylish, characterful tremolo effect to your guitar signal. However, to fully emulate a true keyboard-through-Leslie sound, you need those held chords to resonate as long as possible.
Enter the Lester G's powerful, built-in compressor section, which, when set for it, will pull every last millisecond of your rung out chords into the limelight for a realistic and revolutionary organ emulation. Guitarists looking for more out-there effects can jump from subtle to spanked compression in an instant simply by pressing the G's Squash button for a huge range of compression effects.
An EQ with history. On a pedal with a stereo output, one might expect the Balance knob to control the comparative strength of the left and right signals. So, why does the Lester's Balance act as a sweet-sounding, resonant EQ control? The answer lies in the construction of a Leslie rotating speaker.
Leslies contain two speakers. A high-frequency horn, which physically spins at the desired speed, and a bass woofer speaker, with rotating baffle in front of it to create its signature Leslie swirl. Recording engineers would mic up these two outputs separately, and it is the precise treble/bass blend which the Lester G's Balance knob controls. From crisp and crunchy highs when fully clockwise, to smooth, rounded lows at its minimum, there's a world of timeless tone at your fingertips.
One trick engineers use when recording a rotating speaker is to place two microphones at different points in the rotation, then placing these to the left or the right of the listener for a mesmerising "ping-pong" effect.
Thanks to the Lester's mono/stereo output connections, you can recreate this easily by sending the left and right signals to two separate amps, or to distinct recording inputs which can then be panned left or right.
