The Synth 9 is designed with a range of powerful Effects to turn your guitar or bass into a vintage sounding synthesizer. While the OBX, profit V, mini mood, EXH mini, mood bass, string synth, and poly VI presets are designed and inspired by popular vintage synths, the Vibe synth and solo synth offer unique sounds to enhance your tone. The vibe synth provides a polyphonic synthesizer with decaying harmonic content and vibrato, while the solo synth offers a combination of a synth oscillator and a fuzz square wave guitar to create an extreme fuzz-synth tone.
The pedal's control layout is simple yet powerful, letting you dial in the perfect sound with ease. Two volume controls adjust the synth and dry signal, while the selector lets you pick the synth sound you want. CRTL 1 and CTRL 2 provides adjustments to different parameters for each effect, with the major adjustment being tone on the CTRL 1 knob for OBX, Solo Synth, String Synth, and Poly VI. When in OBX, EXH Mini, and Solo Synth the CTRL 2 knob provides 4 different octaves to choose from, and when switched to Mood Bass it offers only 3.
For the other effects, the two control knobs offer specific parameters to adjust. In Profit V, CTRL 1 adjusts the sweep time of the downward filter envelope while CTRL 2 provides 8 intervals of either octaves or 5ths to choose from. When in Vibe Synth, CTRL 1 controls the power and sweeps of the harmonic range while CTRL 2 adjusts the vibrato rate and depth. When switched to Mini Mood, the synth volume control only adjusts the non-portamento synth volume, with CTRL 1 adjusting the portamento synth volume and CTRL setting its time. The CTRL 1 adjusts the filter envelope sweep time and direction when in EXH Mini mode, and switching to Mood Bass adjusts the sweep time of the downward filter sweep. In String Synth the CTRL 2 knob sets the Filter sweep attack, and in Poly VI mode it sets the modulation depth.
