The Gretsch Renown 57 Special Ed. 5pc Shell Pack is one of the most versatile drum sets ever made. It has everything you need to recreate the best sounds of decades gone by. Whether that's the smooth grooves of the 50s, the pop attack of the 60s & 70s, or the clarity and vibrance required for the clean studio sounds of the 80s, 90s and beyond. The Renown 57 Shell Pack features shells with Gretsch's classic, 7-ply formula maple - providing that traditional Gretsch sound with an incredible open, harmonic tone. Meanwhile, this special series of the Renown comes with a new twist: the addition of Gretsch's player-friendly '302' hoops. Gretsch 302 hoops produce the same focused sounds like that of a die cast hoop, but are lighter in weight and less rigid, allowing the drum to breath better and achieve maximum resonance. But what really sets the Renown 57 apart is its classic car aesthetic, thanks to a Silver Oyster Pearl lacquer finish with an overlapping Chevron crest. Timeless look, timeless sounds.

The Renown 57 Shell Pack might look old school, but the technology behind the Gretsch Formula Maple drums is rooted in the 21st century. Sourced from Canada and the USA, these 7-ply shells feature rock maple wood that offers warm, harmonic tones in any setting. From the studio to the stage, these are drums designed for players who revel in the spotlight.
Maximum resonance
And to further improve their sound quality, the Renown 57 shells are fitted with Gretsch's bespoke 302 hoops and Remo drum heads. These distinctive hoops are 3mm thick, double-flanged and reminiscent of the hoops used by Gretsch until the mid 1950s. Producing a slightly more open and ambient sound than more traditional die-cast Gretsch hoops.
A vintage look like no other
And if the stunning Silver Oyster Pearl lacquer finish wasn't enough, the Renown 57 Shell Pack's drums feature overlapping Chevron crests. Channelling the timeless style of many a classic car from the 20th century, and imparting the sense of a player concerned with looking as impressive as they sound. You'll struggle to find drums with such a unique design elsewhere.
