Modular design, limitless application
A delay with a difference, the PSP 285's semi-modular architecture allows you to experiment with creative delay effects in an unrestricted fashion. Perfectly suited to just about any instrument in your mix, you can enhance vocals, guitars, piano, drums, strings, brass and even drums with the 285 delay. Expansive when you need it to be, traditional when you don't, several modules can be reordered and bypassed to use as a traditional delay plug-in but where it excels is engaging every possible module for maximum sonic potential.
Independent settings for left and channel with stereo and Mid-Side modes go far beyond the normal panning and delay time adjustments. They offer up to 10 seconds of pre-delay per channel with unique ping-pong modes to create spacious and wide stereo mixes. Give each repeat a space in your mix with the built-in ducker and trigger from external sidechains in your audio for clarity with every repeat.
Perfect for synthesizer sound sculpting, PSP 285's filtering lets you sculpt the tone of your delay with 17 unique filters to choose from. These can of course be enhanced with the built-in tempo-syncable LFO and envelope detector modules, adding dynamic movement and modulation to your sound design.
Internal variable sample rate compatibility is offered to manipulate your sound like nothing else. You can take your sound from ultra-modern and hi-fi to vintage, gritty and distorted with one switch.
Reviews
"WOW! And here I thought I knew the 85 delay already. The 285 feels like a Deluxe version. Amazing work. The layout is more user-friendly (says this user) and it pushes me to want to experiment more. Included with the new look is a variety of sound and tone available that I require in a great delay. The best tools can cover every color, flavor and mood, and the 285 excels in all of those areas. This would make it a ‘must buy’ for any engineer today, but that’s before we even talk about the M/S button. Another Wow. What a great option. You guys really covered everything in this one. Thank you!" - Robert L. Smith (Oscar & Grammy winning, Emmy nominated Producer/Engineer/Mixer)
