Hand made in the USA, the King 3BPLG is noted as the typical jazz trombone. The range of the instrument has been opened up due to the slightly larger .525'' bore compared to the standard 3B. Similar to other professional jazz trombones, the 8'' bronze bell found on the King 3BPLG provides a warm and clear tone, making it very versatile. Unlike other trombones, the King 3BPLG features a bronze bell which produces a large and sonorous tone. For additional tonal warmth, the trombone is finished with a bright clear lacquer. The 3BPLG looks more professional than ever due to the newly designed hand engraving on the bell and the vintage three-piece balancer.
Even back in the creation of King instruments in 1894, the instrument was hailed for its smooth and light slide action. From that point on, new skills and technology have only made king trombones better. The chrome plated nickel silver tubing makes for a lightweight slide, offering the player huge technical versatility on quicker passages of music.
As well the trombone, the 3BPLG includes a luxury black hard case designed for the King trombone to fit in securely. This makes transporting the instrument to concerts and rehearsals very easy. Also included is a King mouthpiece which is manufactured to the specifications of the trombone. It plays freely and easily in the higher register and produces a beautiful and rich tone.
The first King trombone was developed in 1894 and was viewed as a revelation to the music world. King had a reputation for engineering the best trombone slides, making them smoother, finer and lighter than any other trombone. Today, King use their musical heritage to continue to set high standards for modern day trombones, combining both traditional techniques and modern-day processes into every instrument.
"“My new King 3B is the best horn I have ever played. No other trombone can match the tone, clarity of articulation and flexibility the 3B possesses. It is truly a joy to play."Nick Vayenas - Trombonist with the Michael Buble band.
“I’ve really enjoyed playing on the 3BPL! It is a warm and versatile instrument that allows me the flexibility I need to succeed in a variety of performance settings. Warm and colorful for playing my music, dark and focused when necessary, while still being able to cut through a big band on lead. The horn responds quickly and allows me to feel comfortable and confident!”Nick Finzer - freelance musician NYC, visiting Assistant Professor of Jazz Trombone – Florida State University
